At Woodbank our Year 2 and Year 6 classes are currently completing a kite project. We will post information, photos and examples of work in the coming weeks. We have enjoyed reading about the kite projects and kite traditions from around the world.

November 2010

Children in Year 2 have been taking part in a home-school project. The children created a kite design at home during half-term, parental involvement was encouraged. In school, the class teacher (Mrs Sutcliffe) planned a range of creative lesson to inform and inspire the children.
The photos below show the childen testing a range of different materials and writing about their findings.

They then discussed what kind of kites would work best and tried out some commercial kites.

Next, they decided what materials to use and set about making and decorating their kites (following their own designs).
